For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 255 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 If you're reading this, thank you. - Alok
