The gas account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless I pay $750. I have never been late before my partner leaving the household.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $155 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
