Start-up fund for Rylee: reopening a small grocery stall after floodwater
A small grocery stall in Oakland needs help replacing a cold-storage unit after floodwater.

For four years I have run a small grocery stall in Oakland. In November, floodwater took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $1,750
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $390
• Shop repairs and licensing: $560
• Working capital for the first month: $650
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this. Small businesses are the heart of Oakland. Hope you're open again soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Lucknow.
Take care, Rylee. I hope things turn around soon. Take care
best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.
