Start-up fund for Lawrence: reopening a laundry service after a break-in
Lawrence lost two washing machines and a dryer to a break-in and needs $3,100 to reopen a laundry service and support the family.

For three years I have run a laundry service in Cardiff. In October, a break-in took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $180
• Working capital for the first month: $470
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $2,450
Thanks for being kind about this.

Take care. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 22 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
