Standing with Shahana: stage 2 breast cancer treatment costs
Shahana is facing stage 2 breast cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Shahana was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in August. The oncology team at Nagpur Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Shahana is 35, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nagpur Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $950
• Scans and lab work: $250
• Transport to Nagpur Cancer Centre: $110
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $120
• Household costs while unable to work: $170
