A French tutor for Tayyaba, 13, who's falling behind

Tayyaba is working hard on French but can't afford a tutor; 1 hours a week until the SAT would help enormously.

My niece, Tayyaba, is 13 and in Form 3. Tayyaba loves school but French has been a struggle since the school was closed during the floods. The SAT exam is in October. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Rawalpindi or online, for about twelve weeks. Tayyaba is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in French, you could change the course of Tayyaba's year. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Sending strength. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Rawalpindi.

    • Thinking of you and your family, Babar. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Tokyo.

      • This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Soweto this morning!
