Standing with Laxmi: early-stage lung cancer treatment costs

Laxmi was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in June. The oncology team at the Bhaktapur Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Laxmi is 54, worked as a hairdresser until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Bhaktapur Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
