Standing with Kioko: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Supporting Kioko through thyroid cancer: medication, transport to Kampala Cancer Centre, and living costs while He cannot work.
🇺🇬 Uganda275 views
Kioko was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in March. The oncology team at Kampala Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Kioko is 44, worked as a bank teller until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kampala Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $670
• Scans and lab work: $180
• Transport to Kampala Cancer Centre: $150
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60
• Household costs while unable to work: $140
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Wudil.
