Standing with Janet: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs

Janet was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Kampala Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Janet is 43, worked as a taxi driver until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kampala Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
