Standing with Imran: colon cancer treatment costs
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Pretoria Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
Anywhere in the world1,246 views
Imran was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at Pretoria Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Imran is 48, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Pretoria Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $520
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $160
• Transport to Pretoria Cancer Centre: $170
I hope life is good to you.
