Standing with Eduardo: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Eduardo is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Eduardo was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in November. The oncology team at Fortaleza Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Eduardo is 54, worked as a hairdresser until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Fortaleza Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $950 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $160
• Transport to Fortaleza Cancer Centre: $115
• Household costs while unable to work: $675
