Shan wants to stay at home - help fund four months of care
Shan, 86, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $3,650 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 86. After a stroke last July Shan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Shan desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Shan worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $2,600
• Medication and prescriptions: $460
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $270
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $320
