Campinas
Márcio, my grandfather, passed away on 18 September after a road accident. He was 37 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,500 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 2 October. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Márcio to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank. Where the $1,500 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $940 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $260 • Transport of the deceased: $165 • Memorial gathering for the family: $135 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Natália

Updates from Natália

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($528 in total) I met with the funeral home and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 23% now ($352). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 5% funded and I made the first payment toward memorial gathering for the family.

Hang in there, Natália. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Pittsburgh.
