A weekly visit for Kofi, 88, who lives alone in Accra

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Kofi is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Kofi, who's 88. Kofi lives alone in Accra, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives several hours away. Kofi loves cricket, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
