Galih, my grandfather, passed away on 10 June after a long fight with kidney disease. He was 42 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $700 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 18 June.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Galih to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Bekasi hospice.
Where the $700 goes:
• Transport of the deceased: $35
• Funeral home services and casket: $390
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $275
