After a violent robbery, Akinyi has struggled with anxiety, sleep and panic attacks. The doctor has referred her to EMDR therapy, but the public waiting list is 11 months, and private sessions at a private practice in Entebbe cost $10 each.
Akinyi has been honest with her employer and taken some time off, but can't keep going without support.
Therapy has already helped a little in the sessions Akinyi could afford. The therapist recommends 24 weekly sessions, and consistent help will make the difference.
Asking for help with this has been the hardest part for Akinyi, and we're grateful for your kindness without judgment.
The money will be paid directly to the counselor's practice, with a session-by-session record.
