I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a pharmacy diploma at Jacksonville State College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,250. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.6 average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Jacksonville State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $4,250 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $2,300 • Final term tuition: $1,600 • Exam and lab fees: $140 • Textbooks and materials: $210 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Piraeus.

    • Hang in there. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Sent it to 7 people at work. Take care.
