Rides to dialysis three times a week for Nicolás in San Francisco

A rota of drivers to San Francisco General Hospital would keep Nicolás on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Nicolás has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to San Francisco General Hospital alone. After a foot amputation, Nicolás can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 35 km each way. Nicolás is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Glad we found this place.
