Keep a roof over Aaron's head in Buffalo
A cut in working hours left Aaron short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.
🇺🇸 Buffalo, New York, United States2,118 views
When the construction firm closed in June, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,200.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $420
• Rent arrears (2 months): $2,500
• Utilities in arrears: $280
Thanks for reading all this.
