The storm hit the families of Orchard Lane on 28 January. My home was one of 32 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $7,350 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,400
• Clean water and purification supplies: $1,000
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,150
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,050
• Tools and labor for repairs: $750
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sure. The biggest one is roofing sheets and timber, $3,400. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
