I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Santa Fe Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000. My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
