The flood hit the families of Lakeview Lane on 13 August. My home was one of 50 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $1,600 goes: • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $155 • Food parcels for displaced families: $560 • Clean water and purification supplies: $320 • Tools and labor for repairs: $565 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

What's already covered and what's the $1,600 for?

          • Sandra BezerraOwnerAnswer

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. bedding, blankets and mattresses comes first ($155) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.

Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
