Plant 3,200 native trees around the Union wetland in Jakarta Barat
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Union wetland needs $400 for saplings and equipment.
🇮🇩 Jakarta Barat, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia643 views
The Union wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This October, 102 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 90 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $175
• Tools and protective gear: $70
• Waste removal and skip hire: $135
• Signage and educational materials: $20
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Praying for you, Aditya. It takes guts to ask. Well done. God bless.
You're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. It's not much but it's yours. God bless.
Best of luck, Aditya. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
