Plant 2,200 native trees around the Liberty hillside in Lalitpur
Help us clean and replant the Liberty hillside before the December planting window closes.
🇳🇵 Nepal1,238 views
The Liberty hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 44 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 102 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $300 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $45
• Tools and protective gear: $85
• Native saplings and stakes: $170
Thank you for reading my story.

Take care. Shared this with my family. My husband and I read this together. Take care
Thanks for sharing this, Radha. Great idea, hope you get there. Thinking of Lalitpur
I hope things turn around soon. After 8 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Lalitpur.
Take care. More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
