Lotus Park needs a covered market stall space - Yakubu's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Kano are raising $550 for a covered market stall space at Lotus Park.
🇳🇬 Kano, Nigeria1,136 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 317 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $440
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
Thank you for reading my story.

Good luck, Yakubu. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Hope things get better soon, Yakubu. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
good luck, Yakubu. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless.
Good luck, Yakubu. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. All the best.
thanks for sharing this, Yakubu. More neighborhoods should do this. Don't give up.
