Plant 1,650 native trees around the Freedom canal in Gangnam
Volunteers are restoring the Freedom canal in Gangnam; $1,650 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇰🇷 Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea673 views
The Freedom canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 106 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 169 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,000
• Tools and protective gear: $175
• Waste removal and skip hire: $300
• Signage and educational materials: $175
Glad we found this place.

Good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Londrina.
Sending good thoughts, Byung-hun. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
Praying for you, Byung-hun. Shared it with a few friends. All the best!
