Jerusalem
Meir was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in December. The surgeon at Jerusalem Regional Medical Center recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $4,050 short. my son has been in and out of Jerusalem Regional Medical Center since December. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Meir struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Meir won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $4,050 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $310 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,050 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $480 • Post-operative medication: $210 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
