Pioneer Park needs a repair café workshop - Priya's neighborhood project
A community-led a repair café workshop at Pioneer Park that will serve 490 neighbors.
🇿🇦 South Africa1,087 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 490 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $430
• Permits and inspections: $95
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
I hope life is good to you.

Wishing you peace. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We're a small family in Sacramento but we're thinking of you. All the best!
Sending strength. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 37 people at work!
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor in Montréal donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Montréal!
