Ayaan was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Tiruchirappalli Orthopedic Institute recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,900, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,150 short. my son has been in and out of Tiruchirappalli Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,900 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ayaan struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Ayaan won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,150 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $390 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $490 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65 • Post-operative medication: $35 • Physiotherapy sessions: $120 • Travel and lodging for the family: $50 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
