Tamanna is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at London Community College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,950.
The registrar has said Tamanna can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Tamanna has a first-class average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Tamanna would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Tamanna isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• Final term tuition: $2,350
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,450
• Exam and lab fees: $150
