A weekly ride to the Johannesburg Dialysis Unit for Thabisa
Could you drive Thabisa to the Johannesburg Dialysis Unit on Saturday? A rota of 3 drivers is forming.
🇿🇦 2005, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa728 views
Thabisa has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to the Johannesburg Dialysis Unit alone. After a foot amputation, Thabisa can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 13 km each way.
Thabisa is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Sending strength, Zola. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'll check back for the next update. God bless
Hope it all works out. Hope the doctors have good news. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
Sending good thoughts. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We're a small family in Pelotas but we're thinking of you.
Take care, Zola. Hope the doctors have good news. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too
