The house fire that spread across the block hit the Old Town district on 27 October. My home was one of 66 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $230
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $190
• Tools and labor for repairs: $190
• Roofing sheets and timber: $540
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hang in there, Francis. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Rome donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.
rooting for you, Francis. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Hyderabad.
good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Kingston.
