We lost everything in the wildfire: help the Eastgate district start over
After the wildfire, families in the Eastgate district need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The wildfire hit the Eastgate district on 18 September. My home was one of 83 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $430
• Clean water and purification supplies: $180
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $340
• Food parcels for displaced families: $250
• Tools and labor for repairs: $200
With deep gratitude,
Ahmet

Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Ribeirão Preto donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Istanbul.
Wishing you the best, Ahmet. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
Hang in there. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Thiruvananthapuram.
