Dorcas has worked and saved for three years to study a master's in public health; a $700 gap now stands between her and graduation.

Dorcas is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a master's in public health at Kampala State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has said Dorcas can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Dorcas has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Dorcas would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Dorcas isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $700 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $300
• Final term tuition: $340
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Textbooks and materials: $35
