Njeri's final semester of a master's in public health in Jinja
Njeri is one term away from finishing a master's in public health but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $750.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a master's in public health at the Jinja Institute of Technology, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $340
• Final term tuition: $380
• Exam and lab fees: $15
• Textbooks and materials: $15
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Njeri
It's all in the list in the story. outstanding tuition balance is the big one at $340, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
Hang in there. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Baton Rouge.
