My tuk-tuk: Wekesa's only way to earn a living
Without my tuk-tuk Wekesa can't work; a $200 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 5 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $200 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $15
• Labor charges: $45
• transmission replacement (parts): $140
Thank you so much.

So sorry you're going through this. Hope you make a strong comeback. Put this on a community board in Ogbomosho this morning. Take care.
Sending love, Wekesa. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Rome donated after I showed her your page. Take care!
Hope it all works out. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Dallas this morning
Wishing you peace. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 8 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Thanks for sharing this. Small businesses are the heart of Dar es Salaam. Hope you're open again soon. My neighbor in Salvador donated after I showed her your page. Love from Salvador!
