My tuk-tuk: Levi's only way to earn a living
Levi drives for a living in Auckland, and a broken suspension has stopped all income for 10 weeks.
🇳🇿 New Zealand749 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 10 weeks ago the suspension failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,400. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Labor charges: $175
• Towing and inspection: $145
• suspension replacement (parts): $1,080
Thanks for reading all this.

Best of luck, Levi. Small businesses are the heart of Auckland. Hope you're open again soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
hope things get better soon, Levi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update.
