Gas shut-off notice: help Caleb pay $550
A disconnection notice for gas arrived and Caleb needs $550 before October.

The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless I pay $550. I have never been late before losing my job in August.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $115 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through the rainy season without gas isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $550 goes:
• Heating arrears: $300
• Reconnection and late fees: $115
• Down payment on a payment plan: $135
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Fayetteville
Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best
Keep going, Caleb. This could happen to any of us.
