My taxi: Mugisha's only way to earn a living

Without my taxi Mugisha can't work; a $350 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my taxi. 10 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $350. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $350 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $260 • Labor charges: $55 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $20 • Towing and inspection: $15 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Mugisha

  • Hope things get better soon, Mugisha. Hope this works out for you.

    • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Mugisha

      • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. fuel pump replacement (parts) comes first ($260) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.

    • keep going. Shared this with my family. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

      • thinking of you and your family, Mugisha. Shared it with a few friends. Sent it to 38 people at work.
