Joshua was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in June. The oncology team at Jacksonville Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Joshua is 35, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Jacksonville Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $10,700 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,900 • Scans and lab work: $1,400 • Transport to Jacksonville Cancer Centre: $1,050 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $850 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,500 Glad we found this place.
