Dignity in old age: caring for Gita
Help Gita stay in her own home with three months of part-time care.
🇳🇵 Pokhara, Gandaki, Nepal1,070 views
I'm caring for me, who's 92. After a heart attack Gita can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Gita desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Gita worked all of her life as a farmer, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $650 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $480
• Medication and prescriptions: $60
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $65
Thank you so much.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Gita.
Part-time carer (three months) is $480 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Appreciate you taking the time.
Hope it all works out, Gita. Looking forward to the next update. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Sending strength. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. All the best.
