My food truck: Oliver's only way to earn a living
Without my food truck Oliver can't work; a $1,450 repair would put him back on the road.
🇺🇸 Jacksonville, Florida, United States770 views
I make my living with my food truck. 3 weeks ago the suspension failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,450. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Labor charges: $350
• suspension replacement (parts): $920
• Towing and inspection: $180
With deep gratitude,
Oliver

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it!
