The Harmony hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 106 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 154 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $400 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $155 • Tools and protective gear: $105 • Waste removal and skip hire: $80 • Signage and educational materials: $60 Thank you for reading my story. - Sandesh

Updates from Sandesh

  2. Quick update: $35 raised so far (9%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  • How is Sandesh doing now?

    • Great idea, hope you get there. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Quetta

      • Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. God bless.

        • Hope things get better soon, Sandesh. This could happen to any of us. After 23 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.

              • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sandesh.

                • Sandesh BhosaleOwnerAnswer

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. native saplings and stakes comes first ($155) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.

              • Sending strength. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out
