I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Kolkata Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $600 goes: • specialist standing frame: $470 • Fitting and training sessions: $45 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $60 Thanks for being kind about this. - Akash

  • good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like

    • It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Gangnam but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Kolkata.
