I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Veracruz Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,900. My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $2,900 goes: • prosthetic leg: $2,650 • Fitting and training sessions: $100 • Delivery and set-up: $55 • First-year servicing plan: $95 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
