Mario lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Salerno Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,850.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment Mario could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $4,850 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $130
• pair of hearing aids: $4,600
• Delivery and set-up: $120
