Kemal lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at the Istanbul Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700.
His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Kemal could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $700 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $85
• pair of hearing aids: $570
• First-year servicing plan: $45
