Mobility fund: braille note-taker for Tumusiime in Likoni
Help Tumusiime get a braille note-taker so He can attend work interviews.
🇰🇪 Kenya897 views
I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Likoni Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,600.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• braille note-taker: $1,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $30
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $45
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
