Edinburgh
Meena was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at Edinburgh University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Meena is 31, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Edinburgh University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $7,600 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,450 • Scans and lab work: $1,050 • Transport to Edinburgh University Hospital: $610 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $520 • Household costs while unable to work: $970 If you're reading this, thank you.

  • Thinking of you, Satish. Your post was clear and honest. Love from Contagem.

    • Take care, Satish. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
