Mateo's final semester of an electrical engineering diploma in New York
A first-generation student, Mateo needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of an electrical engineering diploma.

Mateo is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at New York Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,700.
The registrar has said Mateo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Mateo has a first-class average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Mateo would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Mateo isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.

• Exam and lab fees: $115
• Textbooks and materials: $135
